ABOUT the Position

Reporting directly to the Team Lead, the Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financials. The Accountant will also ensure that financial controls are in place and that company policies are followed.

Responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly cost reporting, month end and year-end journal entries
Preparation of year end working papers
Assist operational divisions with budgeting, forecasting, and long term planning
Review and update accounting policies and procedures, ensuring that all necessary systems and processes are in place to support accurate reporting
Financial analysis and special projects; assisting operational divisions with the project approval process
Review of contracts, contractor payment, assigning conversation rates, reviewing accrual assumptions and special projects
Communicate and correspond with team members on a daily basis


Accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA) is desirable
Public Accounting experience preferred
Minimum 5 years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent problem solving ability
Excellent knowledge of Internal Controls
Knowledge of LIMS and LRM will be considered an asset
