We currently have two opportunities for experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians for our Central Alberta client.

The positions are located in Whitecourt, Alberta, a family-oriented town with a great combination of commercial, residential, leisure, and recreational opportunities. The successful incumbents will be required to relocate to Whitecourt.

ABOUT the Position

Reporting directly to the Electrical & Instrumentation Coordinator, the EI Technicians will be responsible to:

∑ Maintain instrumentation including valves, transmitters, analyzers and other analytical equipment

∑ Maintain and develop DCS/PLC process control systems

∑ Perform, develop, and update PM requirements for process plant equipment

∑ Participate in shutdown planning and scheduling activities as required

∑ Participate in RCM investigations of equipment failures and reliability issues and follow-up of corrective actions

∑ Update and create equipment documents and job procedures

Work Conditions:

∑ Regular workweek is 4 – 10 hour days (on a rotation)

∑ Typically two weekends off per month


∑ Alberta Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician, ideally dual ticketed journeyman in Electrical and Instrumentation.

∑ Minimum of 5 years of industrial journeyman maintenance experience

∑ Experience in DCS/PLC programming

∑ Experience in process control design and troubleshooting

∑ Demonstrated maintenance best practices for equipment care

∑ Experience with projects and project management

∑ Ability to work independently while contributing to a self-managing team

∑ A valid driver’s license

∑ Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, trouble-shooting and communication skills

∑ Preference will be given to candidates that possess the following: a Degree/Diploma in Process Control or Instrument Technology; experience with ABB Infi90 and 800xA; relevant Pulp & Paper maintenance experience
