We have an exciting opportunity available for a Journeyman Cabinetmaker or Finishing Carpenter with our SE Calgary client.

ABOUT The Company
Our client is an exciting and fast-growing manufacturer of technical furniture. With projects around the globe and sales offices throughout North America, the head office and manufacturing facility is located here in Calgary.

About the Position:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager the Journeyman Cabinetmaker will be responsible for the creation of custom millwork components and cabinets, the assembly, staging, and packaging of wood and steel console furniture, and the review of plans for materials takeoffs and cost estimates.

Roles and Responsibilities:
•Manufacture Custom Millwork Cabinets.
• Manufacture wood, HPL, and Corian subcomponents to be used in custom console furniture.
•Assemble and stage custom console furniture.
•Disassemble, pack, and document custom console furniture.
•Maintain shop equipment and machinery.
•Review drawing packages and complete materials take-offs.
•Understand company's expectation for quality and on-time performance.
•Assist in the growth and training of lesser-experienced team members


ABOUT You
• Journeyman Cabinetmaker Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a cabinetmaker or a finishing carpenter in a cabinet or custom furniture shop.
• Experience working with high-pressure laminate, hot pressing, veneer, and solid wood.
• Experience working with CNC routers.
• The physical ability to lift up to 23kg (50lbs).
• An understanding of how to operate and maintain standard woodworking machinery such as a sliding table saw, edge bander, shaper, stroke sander, forklift.
• Console experience will be considered an asset.
